Details

Specifically designed to work with tubeless systems.

76 Projects' HI FLOW valves have 4x the air throughput and a redesigned core that helps prevent sealant build-up.

Tubeless bike tyres and rims were introduced 20 years ago yet tubeless systems still use the Presta valve standard from the 1890's. The clearances in a Presta valve are smaller than the holes that sealant is supposed to be able to block so it's no surprise that the valves get clogged.

  • 'No Clog' internals - Greatly increased clearances prevent sealant build up*.
  • 4x greater air flow (compared to Presta) - Fill the tyre faster to help seat and seal the bead.
  • Sealant can be directly injected through the valve centre (see pic). However, because the valves allow such fast and reliable inflation we recommend adding sealant directly to a unseated section of the tyre.
  • Just 9 grams a pair.
  • High precision CNC machined aluminium.
  • Spare parts available here.
  • Sizes 0 & 1 Compatible with rim protection inserts.
  • Compatible with push-on CO2 inflators, adapter required for screw-on inflators.

Can I inject sealant directly in to the valve? The valve 'core' is hollow so sealant can be injected directly via a 5mm internal diameter tube. Simply undo the brass nut, and make sure the valve 'core' is pushed down. However, we always recommend unseating a section of tyre and putting sealant directly in. That way the sealant level can be observed. Because of the hi-flow nature this method is much easier than with presta valves. *Some sealants with very large particles such as Silca Ultimate may still clog in some circumstances. For these sealants we recommend added directly to the tyre rather than through the valve

Are valves compatible with tyre inserts? Yes, size 0 and 1 valves have base nuts with side ports that are compatible with tyre inserts.

Are the valves compatible with Tyrewiz? No, tyrewiz requires and presta style valve.

Some sealants with very large particles such as Silca Ultimate may still clog in some circumstances. For these sealants we recommend added directly to the tyre rather than through the valve and also not to remove air via the valve when the valve is at the 6 o'clock position.

Due to the hi-flow, if the tyre are deflated with the valves at 6 o'clock the sealant may be siphoned out of the tyre. For that reason the valve should be at another position.

      Valve Rebuild

‘Hi Flow’ Tubeless Valves – the end of Presta?

I fitted a pair and BAM! Well actually more a poof! I was able to seat a pair of Schwalbe X-One tyres to some Mavic Open Pro UST rims using just a track pump. It was easy, just a few strokes and up they went. So, so far the ‘Hi Flow’ valves have impressed. They stayed sealed, no leaking around the valve, I’m happy. Cytech Review

      Bike Rumour

If you're constantly unclocking clogged Presta valves or running a tubeless setup, the 76 Projects HI FLOW 'No Clog' Tubeless Valves are an absolute must-have. Although it takes a little more to install them, they perform exactly as promised, making tyre inflation much quicker and easier at a price that's incredibly competitive to traditional tubeless valves. These valves may just spell the death of Presta. Off.road.cc

      HI FLOW VALVE OVERVIEW

Despite fitting in the same size valve hole and using the same pumps as presta Hi Flow valves have a unique precision CNC'd construction which enables 4x the airflow.

      HI FLOW 'NO CLOG'

Hi Flow Valves valves feature a unique hollow precision CNC'd stainless steel valve core. In combination with the wider 'transfer chamber' section it means that 4x the air flow is achieved versus a presta valve.

The greatly increased clearances also mean that clogging is far less likely. Whereas the clearances in a Presta valve are smaller than the holes that sealant is supposed to be able to block so it's no surprise that they get clogged.

      VALVE SIZES

Size 0 - 09-20mm rim height* Compatible with rim inserts - MTB

Size 1 - 15-35mm rim height* Compatible with rim inserts - MTB / GRAVEL / ROAD

      Size 2 - 30-50mm rim height* - GRAVEL / AERO ROAD

Size 3 - 45-65mm rim height* - DEEP SECTION AERO

Size 4 - 60-85mm rim height* - DEEP SECTION AERO

*unlike normal valves our HI Flow valves are specified by the rim height rather than the valve length.

      ADDING SEALANT

Sealant may be added directly through the hollow valve core via a tube with an internal diameter of 5mm. However, we always recommend unseating a section of tyre and putting sealant directly in. That way the sealant level can be observed. Because of the hi-flow nature the direct method is much easier than with presta valves.
See video for tips on adding sealant.

*Some sealants with very large particles such as Silca Ultimate may still clog in some circumstances. For these sealants we recommend added directly to the tyre rather than through the valve.

      PUMP COMPATIBILITY

Our Hi Flow valves work with pumps lever lock style heads.
Screw-on style heads such as found on Lezyne hand pumps, or push-on* such as the Lezyne speed chuck will require an adapter.

Adapters are available to fit Presta or Schrader style pump heads. Schrader is the version supplied if you select the option to buy with valves on this page.

*No adapter required for One Up EDC pump. Topeak Smart Heads also require an adapter. .

Best valves that I have tested, no deflated wheels. Easy to install and has made tubless easy for the first time. Also the price is really good compared to the Fillmore valves

Well-made but can be a headache at times

The quality of the build and the machining is generally good... a notable improvement over normal Presta valves.. I seated Pirelli Race TLR tyres on a Vision SC55 wheel set very easily with a track pump, though it's also easy with a normal flow valve.

However, seating a pair of Vittoria Corsa Speeds were a headache. Firstly, you need an adapter if you want to use an air compressor (they really should be including them with the valves). Even with the Presta adapter and compressed air, the bike shop couldn't get it seated. It didn't help that the valve core wasn't removable. I eventually had to use the Schrader valve adapter and ask an auto mechanic, and that finally worked.

The build quality and quicker inflation/deflation are nice to have. But on a road bike at least, they've overall proven to be more of a hindrance than an improvement. You can get cheaper valves with removable cores and better compatibility with pumps. These do allow a noticeably larger volume of air than conventional Presta valves but they won't change the game for tubeless seating. They won't negate the need for a compressor with stubborn tyres, and when you do need a compressor, they'll make life harder than conventional valves. Therefore, I would not recommend this valve for road bikes.

      Hi Adil,

Thank you for taking the time to leave a review for our HI FLOW 'NO CLOG' TUBELESS VALVES. We're sorry to hear about your struggles with seating the Vittoria Corsa Speeds, unfortunately some tyre and rims combinations are beyond the air flow that a track pump will deliver regardless of the valve design. Have you tried adding another wrap of tubeless tape to your rims? That usually goes a long way to helping tyres seat with a pump only.

We took the descision to to include the adapters because the majority of customers do not require them but would pay an inflated cost for them to be included.

      No good for me!

Unfortunately, despite my high expectations, I found them to be useless.
I performed a dry run and was able (with difficulty) to inflate the tyre with a track pump. I removed the tyre, added the sealant but was this time unable to inflate it. I removed it again, refitted it, but was still unsuccessful.
As there is no removable valve core, I was unable to use my Airshot inflater.
Also, when riding, I always carry a small bottle of sealant in case of emergencies but with these, I would be unable to use it.
They look good and appear well made though.

      Almost perfect

The valves work very well, even with Vittoria tire liners, and make it easy to add tubeless sealant. A drawback though is that it is not possible to use the Topeak pressure guage I have with these valves. At home this is not a problem since my track pump has a guage, but touring I suppose that I'll have to judge pressure by feel! Ideally there should be some sort of adapter?
